She has had her poems broadcast on the RTE Radio 1 programme, “The Darkness Echoing”, received a commendation in the Gregory O’ Donoghue Poetry Competition in 2013. Her poem Last Minute was longlisted in the Fish Poetry Award 2014, and she was the winner of the Cork Literary Review Poetry Manuscript Competition in 2014.

The winning collection The Riddle of Waterfalls has received great reviews:

In this, her first collection, Madelaine Nerson Mac Namara delivers a portrait of a woman’s life in all its facets. The spirit of these poems is seduced by life’s small riddles and serendipities. To read them is to feel the poet’s wonder at the mysterious energies of air and water, bodies and words. – Mary Noonan

An inspiring presence in Cork’s cultural life for many years, her humanity and political strength has made her a key member of the immensely influential parish of strong Cork women. Her poetic voice comes through brave, beautiful and clear. – Thomas McCarthy

BOOK LAUNCH: October 29th, 6.30pm, Cork City Library, Grand Parade.
